Long Buckby Children’s Recreation Ground

New Committee Members Sought

Long Buckby Children’s Recreation Ground (LBCRG) is a Charitable Trust set up in 1967 to provide a children’s playground for the benefit of the parish of Long Buckby. The Trust Deed states that that the general management and control of the property shall be invested in a Management Committee of volunteers comprising five adult residents of Long Buckby.  Four shall be elected at a General Meeting.  The fifth will be a Parish Councillor nominated and appointed to the Committee by the PC.  The committee will comprise: Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and two committee members.

Nominations / Expressions of Interest are sought from members of the parish to fulfil these roles. These can be via email to longbuckbyrec@gmail.com or by post to Long Buckby Rec, 2A Stenhouse Close, Long Buckby, NN6 7YJ, giving full contact details, reasons for wanting to join the committee together with the name and contact details of a seconder to the nomination.

All nominations are to be received no later than four weeks after the date of this posting.  A general meeting will be held towards the end of March 2021 to confirm these nominations or to select members if more than four nominations are received.  An exact date and how the meeting will be held will be disclosed once the government has given an indication in its roadmap of steps to come out of the pandemic restrictions.  It is hoped guidance will be given on the holding of public meetings.

Please note, selected committee members will be subject to a DBS (criminal records) check.

If you have any questions or want further details please do not hesitate to get in touch with Rick Vivian (Chair, LBCRG) by email or post at the addresses shown above. Should you wish to discuss the roles please say so in your email/letter (remembering to include your phone number). We look forward to receiving your interest in supporting this wonderful facility for the children of the parish.
