ESSENTIAL MAINTENANCE WORKS:

A5 KILSBY TO WEEDON Multi-Disciplinary Project   Update Bulletin 1 – 1.3.2019

As you may be aware Highways England are carrying out essential maintenance works between Kilsby and Weedon which are programmed to commence on Monday 4th March 2018.

The initial works to Phase 1 (from the BP service station to the Weedon Bec crossroads) includes vegetation clearance before bird nesting season commences & surveys of existing drainage pipelines.

The initial works to Phase 2, (from Weedon Bec crossroads to the new Flore roundabout)  also includes vegetation clearance before bird nesting season commences & surveys of existing drainage pipelines.

These works are programmed to take approximately one week.

Similar Initial works will then be carried out in Phase 3 (from the Flore roundabout to the Heart of The Shires shopping village). Works to this phase are programmed to take between one and two weeks.

After completing the initial works in Phase 3 we will return to Phases 1 and 2 to start our main construction works. These will include any necessary repairs to existing drainage pipelines & construction of new drainage, (based upon the previous surveys), kerbing, ditch clearing and reprofiling of verges.

The above works will be carried out overnight between 8pm and 6am Monday to Friday inclusive.

NB: Please note that all our planned road works may be subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances.

Local businesses will be open as usual during these essential works so please use your local shops, bars and restaurants and ask others to do the same. I’m sure that your local business community would appreciate it.

I apologise for any disruption our works may cause. Please plan ahead and allow extra time for your journey.
