The West Northants Council Consultation Document asks for your views on
1,500 to 5,000 houses to be built as a new settlement to the south of Long Buckby.
In reality it will make Long Buckby four times as big!!!

Some of the reasons for objections which can be adapted to use in your response:
1 This proposal for LB is not a new settlement, merely an urban extension
2 The road network to the A5 having to cross M1/Rail/Canal is not suitable
3 The edge of the proposal butts onto Flood Zone 3
4 The historic centre of Long Buckby is a conservation area and the scale of proposal will have an adverse impact
5 The already congested roads in the middle of village would be unable to cope; houses are cracking, the drainage and pipework are crumbling.
6 If allowed, Long Buckby would have almost 7,000 houses and become a small town. This is a quadrupling of the current size.
7 The presence of the outdated Railway Station does not justify this level of expansion – service level is very poor at this station.
8 Why does WNC not consider creating a large number of the 30,000 houses in one completely new settlement along the lines of Mawsley in the north?
9 The already agreed NE extension of Daventry will come almost to the A5.
With this proposal Long Buckby will be nearly joined to Daventry.
