Parish Council
Long Buckby Parish Council is concerned with the general welfare of the village and has responsibilities in the following areas:
- street lighting (Policy Adopted 11/09/2017 and can be viewed here)
- roadside verges and seats
- the cemetery (Regulations Adopted on 13/08/2018 can be viewed here)
- litter collection, litter bins and dog bins
- public conveniences
- footpaths and bridleways
- the recreation ground ( Grass cutting only - This is run by a seperate management committee )
- children's play area ( Grass cutting only - This is run by a seperate management committee )
- allotments
- planning matters
- CCTV (Policy, Guidelines and Access request forms can be found in the Documents folder)
The Full Council meets at 7.30 pm on the second Monday in the month in the Library.
The public are welcome to attend and can take the opportunity to speak to the council during public time.
There is an additional meeting on the fourth Monday of each month which mostly concerns planning applications. This also starts at 7.30 pm.
Plans which are coming up for consideration for approval can been seen online, at the District Council Offices or by arrangement with the Clerk to the Parish Council.
They can be viewed online in the Library.
Matters concerning allotment rental, street lights not working, blocked rights of way, seat damage or any other Parish responsibilities should be referred to the Clerk

Sue has been the Parish Clerk in Long Buckby for over 16 years. She is married with 4 children and 1 grandchild. She is also Clerk for Charwelton, Watford, Whilton and Staverton Parish Councils and is also Secretary for the Long Buckby Scouts Committee and Treasurer on the Daventry Town FC Committee.
