Long Buckby Parish Council is concerned with the general welfare of the village and has responsibilities in the following areas:
- street lighting
- roadside verges and seats
- the cemetery
- litter collection, litter bins and dog bins
- public conveniences
- footpaths and bridleways
- the recreation ground
- children’s play area
- allotments
- planning matters
The full Council meets at 7.30 p.m. on the second Monday in the month in the community centre. The public may attend and can take the opportunity to raise issues with the Council.
The Planning Committee and other committees meet on the fourth Monday also at 7.30 p.m. Plans which are coming up for consideration for approval can been seen at the District Council Offices or by arrangement with the Clerk to the Parish Council. They are also usually available at the village library.

Matters concerning allotment rental, street lights not working, blocked rights of way, verge seats damaged or any other Parish responsibilities should be referred to the Clerk. Alternatively they can be raised at the information service desk which is open in the library on Friday and Saturday mornings.
