Long Buckby Parish Council is concerned with the general welfare of the village and has responsibilities in the following areas:

  • street lighting
  • roadside verges and seats
  • the cemetery
  • litter collection, litter bins and dog bins
  • public conveniences
  • footpaths and bridleways
  • the recreation ground
  • children's play area
  • allotments
  • planning matters

The Full Council meets at 7.30 pm on the second Monday in the month in the Library.

The public are welcome to attend and can take the opportunity to speak to the council during public time.

There is an additional meeting on the fourth Monday of each month which mostly concerns planning applications. This also starts at 7.30 pm.

Plans which are coming up for consideration for approval can been seen online, at the District Council Offices or by arrangement with the Clerk to the Parish Council.

They can be viewed online in the Library.

Matters concerning allotment rental, street lights not working, blocked rights of way, seat damage or any other Parish responsibilities should be referred to the Clerk 

Parish Clerk - Sue Porter

Sue has been the Parish Clerk in Long Buckby for 9 years. She is married with 4 children and 1 grandchild. She is also Clerk for Watford, Whilton and Staverton Parish Councils and is also Secretary for the Long Buckby Scouts Committee. Her husband Brian is the Webmaster for LongBuckby.net.

Parish Council Chairman - Steve Osborne

Steve Osborne is the Chairman of the Parish Council. He is widowed with two children and is also both a County Councillor and a District Councillor.

His additional responsibilities within the Parish Council are for Roads and Pavements and Public Toilets.

Steve runs a local Television Sales and Repair business.
