03 October 2019Passengers at Long Buckby advised to check journeys amid timetable change from Monday 7th October 2019

Passengers using Long Buckby station are being advised to check their travel plans when a revised London Northwestern Railway timetable comes into effect next week (w/c Oct 7).

The changes, which are being made to improve performance across the network, will reduce the number of Birmingham-bound services calling at the station per hour from three to two.

The services which will no longer stop are those which previously called at Long Buckby at 25 minutes past the hour, between 0925 and 1725 inclusive, from Monday to Saturday. Southbound services towards London Euston are unaffected.

Jonny Wiseman, customer experience director for London Northwestern Railway, said: “Keeping our trains running on time is our top priority and it is sometimes necessary to make changes to calling patterns in order to save vital minutes.

“Our services suffer frequent delays between Coventry and Birmingham and removing one call per hour at Long Buckby will result in significant improvements in performance, benefiting all our passengers.

“While our analysis shows the affected services are not heavily used, we thank our customers at Long Buckby for their understanding and urge passengers to check their journeys before travelling.”
