The Post Office is planning to re-open Long Buckby Post Office at The Co-op, High Street, Long Buckby, NN6 7RE with extended opening hours.

It will be one of our new local style branches where Post Office services will be delivered from an open-plan till alongside the retail counter.

Long Buckby Post Office, which had been based at 4 High Street, Long Buckby, NN6 7RD has been temporarily closed since February 2018 due to the resignation of the Postmaster and the withdrawal of the premises, which we do not own, for Post Office use.

We are delighted to be able to restore Post Office services at The Co-op and the branch is due to re-open on Friday 24 May.

The planned opening hours are Monday to Saturday: 7am – 10pm; Sunday: 10am – 4pm.

This will provide 81 hours of Post Office service a week, making it very convenient for customers to visit.

Mike Ball, Post Office Multiples Account Executive, said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents. We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs. This modernisation is part of a major investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office and will secure services for the future.”

We are keen to restore services to this community as soon as possible, so we have decided to go ahead with our plans to re-open the branch, however we would feedback on access into or inside the new premises.

The Post Office is now inviting customers and interested parties to give their views on the plan. Post Office Ltd welcomes feedback on any issues customers would like considered. The consultation will close on 23 May 2019.

Customers can share their views during the consultation online at postofficeviews.co.uk with the branch code 396226.
