Village Information
Location
The village is in Northamptonshire midway between Northampton and Rugby and only two miles from Watford Gap. It is a large parish of about 4,400 people which includes two smaller settlements of Murcott and Buckby Wharf. The Wharf is on the Grand Union Canal near the Leicester Arm junction. The village has a railway station with lines to London and Birmingham.
Facilities
Long Buckby has a good range of shops including two small supermarkets, a chemists, a newsagents, a butchers, an ironmongers and four hairdressers. There are three public houses in the main village plus one at the Wharf. There are also three restaurants and several take-aways. The village has its own medical practice and dentist plus various private complementary medicine practitioners. The modern village library is open on five days each week.
There are various sporting clubs including cricket, rugby, soccer and hockey. There are also two licensed clubs and a large community centre. The village has three main churches: Baptist, Church of England and United Reform plus a smaller Roman Catholic Church which is served from Daventry.
Schools and Housing
Long Buckby has infant and junior schools on separate sites. Secondary pupils are transported six miles to Guilsborough and there are other secondary schools in Daventry. There is a wide range of modern and older houses to buy/rent in the village.

From M1 motorway — from South
- Exit at Junction 16
- Follow A45 Daventry to traffic lights at Weedon
- Turn right onto the A5
- Follow the A5 north for 5 miles to cross roads
- Turn right to Long Buckby Wharf
- Follow road for 2 miles through Long Buckby Wharf to Long Buckby
From M1 Motorway — from North
- Exit at Junction 18
- Take A428 towards Northampton
- Bypass West Haddon following the A428
- After 2.5 miles turn right to Long Buckby
From Northampton
- Follow A428 towards Rugby
- After about 9 miles turn left to Long Buckby
From East on A14
- Leave the A14 at the Welford exit (A5199)
- Turn right onto A5199
- After half a mile turn right again and drive through Cold Ashby towards West Haddon
- Pick up the A428 just before West Haddon and head towards Northampton
- After 2.5 miles turn right to Long Buckby
