1901 Census

This transcription has been done by members of the Local History Society from microfiches of the original handwritten enumerator’s returns held at Northampton Record Office. Not all the information collected has been included but the most popularly requested items are shown.

The original handwriting is by three different people and it is sometimes difficult to read. Surnames such as Parker and Packer are almost indistinguishable. Where possible we have cross checked with other sources but do be prepared to explore names or words of similar spelling if you don’t find the name you want straight away. Please note also that the first column is the schedule number and not the street number. Schedule numbers can be misleading because all three enumerators started from 1!
