Daventry & District Older Peoples Forum (DOF) and Daventry District Council (DDC) would like to thank every organisation, community group, business, School, Parish Council and individual for their kind donations and generosity.
When we embarked on this campaign back in September our aim was to help local people and families in times of real need but we never expected to receive such a positive response from the public.
DOF’s original target had been to put together 10+ hampers bearing in mind each hamper shopping list consisted of 32 items costing on average £45.00 per hamper.
I am delighted to advise this target has been basically demolished. We have now put together and shipped out 46 x complete hampers most of which contain more than the 32 items listed, with literally many more hundreds of donated items making their way to Daventry Food Bank as we speak.
Rob Gee from Daventry Food Bank was overwhelmed by the public’s support and caring generosity and stated each hamper would be finding its way to local people and families that need them the most.
